We are getting married in jamaica in November 07, we are then having a reception in Jan 08. When should I send out invitations???

I've already sent out save the date cards last dec (2006) and we have a wedding website with the details. Do I do the invitations in two mailings? Is one mailing enough? When do i send them out???

My thought was one invitation for those attending/invited to the reception, and one for those just going to Jamaica - all sent out in April 07 to allow those going to Jamaica to book their holiday. Do i need to send out reminders in November for the reception?

Confused?!
Thanks!

Here let me help you with this. We have had clients do it a couple of ways. Please keep in mind that there is no set rule with destination wedding. I always tell clients that you need to do what you feel comfortable with. In your case I would suggest putting a save the date and a invite card for the reception. That way you have both covered in one mailing. We have had some clients that put on their save the dates that a local event will be latter, then send out another one after the wedding announcing the wedding with a picture and details.

I sawy do what you feel is right.

Dear Confused,
It is always a good idea to send out invitations three months prior to the wedding/reception. However in your case You might need to give atleast 6 to 7months for the wedding since it is a destination wedding. Three months for the reception is enough time and you can request to have replies back by the end of November or begining of December after you come back from your wedding.
Good Luck
