How Many Guests Are You Inviting?

How many guests are you inviting to your destinaton wedding? How are you handling the travel and lodging for your guests and attendants?

My fiance and I are inviting approx. 100 people to our destination wedding, altho we know about half of them wont be coming. Were planning to have an informal reception after we return home from the honeymoon, so those who cant make the wedding in Mexico will be joining us back home then :)

My husband and I were married in a destination wedding in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. We were married in a small country chapel with 46 guests including attendents. It was a 10 hour drive from our town in Missouri to our destination wedding site. All of our guests took advantage of the scenery and everyone went by car, with some doubling up with other friends/relatives.

we invited about 40 guests knowing that 10 of them would most likely not be able to make it. our wedding is three months away and as of right now we only have about ten people booked. twenty other people are planning on coming but really taking their time in making their trip plans...so my advice to others is to send out those invitations early and set a RSVP date....we didn't and now I am really wishing we would have. i can't really go forward in my planning until i know my final number.

about a hundred people but i'm not sure if they are all coming. :( some have called and said that they can't come. it's really sad.
