Morning All,

This is my first post here, so bare with me. Me and my Fiancee are planning a wedding for either October or November of 2009. I have already hired a planner that is going to assist me in making the arrangements. Anybody have any suggestions for a locations in Mexico, Jamacia, and the Bahamamas. Does anyone know what the weather is like in October and November at these places?

Hi Oklahoma Girl,

As a destination wedding planner myself that handles both the travel and wedding planning for the past 11 years I have to say that the destination is going to depend upon your wedding wishes. That is the first thing that I look at as a planner. If you are looking for a beach wedding to be private or don't mind a public beach. There is also the wedding style to look at. Here are some questions.

Do you want a reception and cocktail party with dancing or just a dinner.

Do you mind being one of several bridal couples that day or would you rather be the only one?

Is there a certain kind of flower you want?

Will anyone traveling have a certain concern to take into consideration like an older adult with walking problems or vegan or allergy?

Will there be children traveling?

How long do you plan on having your guests stay?

Those questions you must look to yourself because they can start narrowing down you choices.

As for the weather, you have hurricane season in October but that could also carry over until the first week or two in November. There was a major hurricane in the first days of November a few years ago, otherwise in the past that was not the case. You can get afternoon showers in October with humdity and heat. I suggest keeping towards November if possible.

I hope this helps! Best wishes on your special day!

Hey Oklahoma Girl,
I just read the resonse you got and all the advice the wedding planner gave you is right on the money! Right down to the weather... which is off course unpredictable but it can be bad that time of year.
Best of luck with all your plans and keep us informed on what you decide!

I used to be an event planner for my profession and am planning my destination wedding (with my fiance of course), so it's been a little easier for me. We live in PA and we wanted something tropical for about 50 people. Going international seemed a little expensive for many people, so we are getting married in Orlando at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. It's owned by Loew's Resorts and is tastifully Hawaiian themed, where you feel like you are in Hawaii itself. We are actually having a Hawaiian ceremony too on he beach. The best advice is if you are worried about price and the amount of people who will attend, just to think of a location in the US that you can utilize for the theme you want.
